We’re thrilled to have you in class with us. Our goal is to create a space where everyone feels informed, confident, and excited to learn. How will my child know when their class starts? What if I’m running late to pick them up?
Try to arrive no more than 5 minutes early! When your child enters, they should wait quietly for the class in session (no acrobatics in the lobby, please!).
After class, have your child hang tight inside until you arrive to safely escort them to the car. If life throws a curveball and you’re running late, just shoot Holli a text at 515-462-4552 to give us a heads up!
Can parents watch their child’s class in the gym? Am I required to stay during class? 🤔
To keep things focused and fun, we ask that parents:
🚫 Refrain from entering the gym during class (we’ve got it covered inside!)
👀 Use the awesome viewing windows in the lobby to watch the action
🙅♀️ No coaching from the sidelines—let’s keep the distractions to a minimum
🚪 Please don’t open the door to correct your child—let us handle it!
🏃♀️ Feel free to run some errands while your child’s having a blast in class (preschool parents may need to stay, see restroom note below)
Thanks for helping us keep things fun and focused! 🙏🎉
What if my child needs to use the restroom or get a drink during class?
If your child needs to use the restroom or get a drink during class, we've got it covered! We have a restroom right inside the gym, so they can easily take a quick break when needed.
Preschool Parents: 🚻 A restroom visit before class is highly encouraged. In some cases, we may send your little one to you for assistance in the restroom, as leotards can be tricky for little ones to manage on their own.
To help them stay hydrated and energized, we recommend bringing a water bottle to class.
What Are the Behavior Expectations at Winterset Gymnastics?
At Winterset Gymnastics, we’re all about building skills, having fun, and supporting each other. From our tiniest tumblers to our oldest students, we all follow these rules to keep everyone safe, learning, and having a blast:
Be a Team Player – Listen up, follow directions, and cheer on your teammates.
Stay Safe & Focused – Focus and fun are a winning combo! Pay attention, stay engaged, and be ready for your turn. No running off from your coach—let’s keep it moving!
Bring Your A-Game – Keep it positive, ask for help when you need it, and always give it your best shot!
Manners Matter – Good manners make the gym a better place for everyone! Saying “please” and “thank you,” obeying your coach, and following their tips helps everyone shine. When we show respect, we all have more fun and get better together!
How We Keep Things Rolling
Friendly Nudge – A little reminder to keep things on track!
Oops Alert – A chance to try again—we’re all learning together!
Cool-Off Break – A quick reset to come back even stronger!
Parent Check-In – We’ll touch base if we need a little extra support.
Game Plan Meeting – If you need more help, we’re here to figure it out together!
How quickly will my child learn the skills taught in class?
We know every child learns at their own pace, and each skill takes time to master. Our experienced coaches use a fun, effective approach to help your child grow and reach their full potential. Our coaches keep kids progressing, no matter which class they’re in, and there’s no limit to what a child can learn in any class. However, kids are often inspired by seeing their peers, and sometimes, we may recommend switching classes or adding an extra class. If you have any questions or need support, don’t hesitate to reach out—we are here to help!
Get Ready to Flip and Learn!
In our gymnastics class, we keep things exciting by rotating through different equipment with fun learning circuits! Each circuit has a skill coached by the instructor and one for students to practice on their own. There’ll be times to watch demos or listen to the coach, and your child might even get to show off a skill to help their teammates!
